[/i] But he mustered up the courage to try this... strange looking specimen. Sitting down at one of the tables, he examined one of the items on his tray. He didn't know if he should eat it, or... be afraid of it. He stabbed his fork into it, and brought it closer to his face, to smell it. It smelt like a chicken fried steak. Didn't look like one. He dropped his fork on his plate, and to his distaste, a splash of gravy hit him in the face. He cringed against it. " I hate New York." He said, glaring at the tray. It was way too sunny, there weren't any forests for him to run around in, and It just sucked! He leaned back in his chair. He'd rather starve than eat this garbage. Lilly set out to the cafeteria. Her lunch in hand, she had went down the street to get her lunch, she hated the food here. She set down at a table, by herself, and was about to set into her lunch when a tall black haird boy threw himself into the seat across from her. She stared at him for a moment, and looked away, his aoura was definitly something to see. it was snarly, and...tangled up. She shook her head, and was about to raise the philly steak to her mouth, when she felt something hit her hair, after she heard a fork hitting a plate.
"I hate New York." She heard his deep voice say. She took out her compact mirror, and sure enough, she had a peice or gravey in her hair.
"You know, you should really aim for the lunch ladies next time," She said, taking it out very carefully, making sure nothing else was there. She smiled at him then. "Here," She said, sliding her philly steak to him, she could tell that he was hungry. She then took a pacage of brie out of her cooled lunch box, and a small pack of crackers, and started smearing the smooth cheese onto the crackers.
"You really should consider going to the wagon on the corner, about a block of this place, if you hang a left at the side doors," She said around the crackers and Brie that she was chewing.

[/i][/b]" He jumped a bit, then looked over to his side and saw a pretty blond. Sure she wasn't as beautiful as Rosalie, but then again Rosalie was a vampire. He eyed her, as she fixed her hair. Oh, damn, he had gotten food in her hair. He grinned and laughed to himself remembering when he did the same to a certain temperamental blond vampire. The blond next to him smiled. And he tried to wipe the laughter off is face, and the grin. " Here," She said, sliding her philly steak to him. He looked at her, than at the food she had placed in front of him. He discretely, smelled it, to see if it was edible. He didn't know these people, they didn't... smell human. Well, most of the people around him, smelt human, but this girl, didn't. She then took a package of brie out of her cooled lunch box, and a small pack of crackers, and started smearing the smooth cheese onto the crackers. " You really should consider going to the wagon on the corner, about a block of this place, if you hang a left at the side doors,[/b]" She said around the crackers and Brie that she was chewing. He nodded, considering to take her advice. " I'm Jacob, by the way. And thanks for the advice. New kid. Hard to figure out this world." He was speaking about, both New York, and the vampire world. Sure, he had been with the Cullens since Renesmee was born, but he still didn't know if they wanted to kill him, or not. [/size][/ul] words: two-seven-six tagged: lilly van allen, open notes: none

She watched him discreetly smell the food. When he didnt touch it, she sighed.
"I'm Jacob, by the way. And thanks for the advice. New kid. Hard to figure out this world."
She glanced at him, she could hear the double meaning in his words, but what double meaning, she didnt know.
"Dont I know it," She said, popping another cracker into her mouth. "Im Lilly by the way, and i didnt poison the food," She said, motioning to the philly that he had left sitting there. She let a small smile play on her lips, to tell him that she was trying to be friendly.
"Ive been there, believe me, new kid, no idea what the hell is going on?" She shook her head, remembering her first days at the parthenon. "When you find someone who teaches you the tricks of this place, you'll learn to like it better, now, you gonna eat that thing or not?" a full smile broke across her face. If he didnt, she would snatch it up. She didnt want to have to wait until next period to skip to get a churro and a sambo if he wasnt going to eat it.

[/b][/i]" The girl said, popping another cracker into her mouth. " I'm Lilly by the way, and i didn't poison the food,[/i]" She said, motioning to the Philly that Jacob had left sitting there. She let a small smile play on her lips. " I've been there, believe me, new kid, no idea what the hell is going on?[/i]" She shook her head. He laughed, and nodded. " When you find someone who teaches you the tricks of this place, you'll learn to like it better, now, you gonna eat that thing or not?[/i]" a full smile broke across her face. He pushed it towards her. " Nah, go ahead. Shame to let a pretty girl like you have to walk more." Truthfully, he just didn't trust anyone anymore. Well, he trusted Renesmee, and actually she was the only one he did trust fully. She was only half vampire, and he imprinted on her. Bella, he trusted... a bit. Not fully. Not as much as he used to. She was a vampire, his mortal enemy. She could turn on him, at any moment. All it took was a bit of blood. Jacob looked at Lilly. " So, what's there to do around here?" He was more used to the forests and rain, here it was sidewalks and sun. He liked being the sun... He liked being Bella's sun. He smiled at Lilly, waiting for her answer. She let the smile fall slightly form her face. This kid was so jumpy.
"Nah, go ahead. Shame to let a pretty girl like you have to walk more." She smiled again, for his benifit. At least he wasnt going to brush her off.
"Suit yourself" She said taking a bite of the sambo, a bit of bell pepper and onion fell out, onto the table, she shurgged it off.
"So, what's there to do around here?"
She set down her food, half done by scarfing it down. It really was a treasure of the New York City Vendors. She wiped her mouth.
"Hm, well, there are countless bars, many stores, The park, the resturants," She tapped her finger to her chin, trying to think of a place where a teenage boy would like to go, and really couldnt think of anything. "Then there's always skinny dipping in the lake..." She said, a grin on her face to show she was kidding. She laughed, and probably startled the poor guy.
"Well, i guess you shouldnt ask me, all i do is go on walks in the park, and sit at home, but on weekends, i do go out," She looked away for a moment. When she looked back to the guy, his aura still shown. She willed it to shut off. She hated when it didnt. She let her smile slip back onto her face.
"Sorry i couldnt have been more of a help,"

[/i][/b]" She tapped her finger to her chin. " Then there's always skinny dipping in the lake..." She said, a grin on her face. Then she laughed. Jacob just stared at her. Back in La Push, you could do that, actually most of the pack did that. He laughed, remembering when they got Leah to do that. She usually ran off when they all went. They were just guys hanging out, no harm, no shame. Leah, had finally been convinced to do it, but she ran off, shortly after. He grinned remembering how Quil tortured her with thoughts about it. It was funny to see her glare at Quil when he did that, but he still found it kinda mean that he kept torturing her with it. " Well, I guess you shouldn't ask me, all I do is go on walks in the park, and sit at home, but on weekends, i do go out," She looked away for a moment. She looked back at him and smiled. " Sorry i couldn't have been more of a help," He laughed. " Nah, you were fine. That's kinda what I like to do. Parks are kinda my thing. Forests mainly. But, I can't find any around here... Kinda makes me miss home." He said, leaning back in his chair more, and staring at the table. He was kinda upset that the pack hadn't gone with him to New York. He wondered how they were doing back home. He knew that Leah could take care of the pack, well enough. And the alliance with Sam's pack, was still standing, as far as he knew... She laughed. He liked forests? She would share a little nugget with him then.
She tilted her head to the side, slightly.
"You know, New York is sixty two precent Forest, right?" She said, a smile settling on her face. She had always seemed to smile all the time, and she was just getting back to that.
"The, um, Adirondack and Catskill Forest Preserve...and there are a few more," She said, finishing off her sambo, and putting the cheese and crackers away for what she had planned them for, later, just lounging around in the park.
"Take a look around those places, they're quite awesome, and they may suprise you," She said, her words a double meaning, reffereing to the fact that there are...other things in the forest.
