She was freezing. In heaven, nobody felt the weather, mostly because there was very little. But, here, even on days where it was particularly warm, it was still winter, and the nights were very cold. She pulled her jacket sweater tighter, and walked a little further, balancing her purse on her hip. She looked around, watching as the white that was her breathe faded into the dark air. She wasn't alone. but she wasn't afraid. Never. She knew she was safe. She pulled her Ipod out of her pocket and placed one ear bud in her ear, walking as the soft music played, a bit calming.
She sat down on a bench as the sun rose over the city, before fading behind clouds of gray. It must be about six forty five. Again she had been out all night. She didn't need much sleep, but she did tend to enjoy it when she caught it. She wished she wasn't here. A strange uneasy feeling had become her. She sincerely hoped it was not a demon.
She slouched back on the bench, and ran a hand through her curls, before pulling her scarf tighter. She looked around, before jumping to her feet, and walking down a path towards the statue.

Ben had no idea where he was going. He had spent another long night out and probably had a few too many drinks for his own good. Stumbling through New York, he found himself at the Statue of Liberty. How strange that he would fins himself here. And he was incredibly thirsty. Tired, slightly drunk and thirsty, what a great combination. It was then that Ben noticed he wasn't the only one awake at this ungodly hour. He could hear her heartbeat and Ben bit his lip in anticipation.
Noticing the rising sun, Ben flipped the hood of his jacket up and jammed his hands into his pockets. He watched the woman from a distance and finally decided to walk closer. With a sigh, he sat on the bench, staring off into the distance. It didn't take him long to notice that there was something slightly off about her.
She didn't seem...human. Almost immediately Ben was starting to regret his decision. "If you're looking for a good view of the city, you'll have to sneak up to the top."
