Alex sighed as she tugged on the edge of her brown mini skirt, pulling it down about an inch more as she stood in front of the full sized mirror in her bedroom, overlooking her outfit. When she'd bought the thing it was perfect, but Demonte slipped it in the wash and... well, it shrunk. Anyhow, she'd get used to the new shortness. Didn't matter wither way though. It was a mini skirt. With one swift motion, she grabbed her jacket and skipped out of the apartment. She had no idea where her most recent adopted parent was, but as long as he wasn't around, she was free to do whatever. So, making her way down to the nearest club slash bar, she flashed her best smile to the guard, slipped him a thirty, and went inside. The Scene was one of her favorite places to go - actually it was the only place she could go to, since, all the other places had either kicked her out orrr the manager hated her because she'd set the place on fire. On accident... most times. Alex went over to the bar and slid onto one of the stools, and motioned for the bartender to come over. "Vodka, Nicky. Ooh! And could you put in one of those--?" She started, but before she could finish her order, Nicky, the bartender, was already chuckling and finishing her sentence. "Bendy straws. Got it. I'll be one sec, Lexi." Alex grinned warmly. Thanks." She'd obviously come to this place a lot. Nicky Vectson was a neighbor of hers, from beside the Banks, her last foster family. He always gave her alcoholic beverages when she wanted them, and he usually charged her half price, since, he knew she didn't exactly have all the money in the world, like most of the students at the Parthenon. He soon came back over with her Vodka and bendy straw, and slid it over to her. But before she could reach into her shoe for her money, Nicky spoke up. "No, no, Alex. It's on the house. Just behave tonight, okay?" With that, he smiled at her then went back to tending his other customers. Alex smiled and shook her head, then picked up her glass and took a sip.

It was easier to control the bloodlust this time. No, he couldn't allow himself to lose control this time. Ben knew he wasn't as stupid as the last kid that tried to mess with the Cullen family but he wouldn't let that get to him. He was tired of the fact that vampires had to hide what they were. His race has so much more potential and it was wasted on what, hiding? It was just ridiculous. But he had his share of blood already and tonight was just going to be a chance for him to relax.
Ben left his apartment from the fire escape in order to avoid the very annoying landlord he had. If it wasn't for the fact that she was providing him with a place to stay, Ben would have killed her a long time ago. He glanced back at the apartments as he left to make sure she wasn't watching him. She was also creepy as hell. Quickly, he turned the corner and began searching the streets for some sign of entertainment. It wasn't too difficult to find a bar around these parts.
The first one he spotted was also the first one he went in. Ben snuck in with a group of probably underage kids and made his way to the bar. He let the girl next to him order and he grinned when the bartender finished her order. Someone was spending too much time here. The bartender brought over her order and then looked over at Ben. "Uh yeah, vodka for me too." The guy nodded at him and as he was working on getting the drink, Ben turned to the girl. "Bendy straws? I didn't even know people used those anymore," he grinned and shook his head. "Kids are starting to drink younger and younger these days."

"Bendy straws? I didn't even know people used those anymore," Alex's attention turned away from her drink and Nicky as the guy next to her spoke up all of a sudden. She half way ignored the comment, but made a mental note to kick his ass for it if he dissed the bendy straw again. If, that is, he was dissing the straw. She couldn't exactly tell. "Well clearly people are retarded as hell, because bendy straws are frigging awesome. Anyone who doesn't think so should seriously check theirselves into a mental institute." Okay, so that was one strike on her annoyance scale... even though she didn't know if he was dissing the bendy straw or not.
Still. Just the fact that she wasn't sure was annoying. "Kids are starting to drink younger and younger these days." Okay woah. KID?! KID?! Really?! Well damn! Yeah okay that was two strikes on her annoyance scale. One more... and she was taking this bastard out back and roasting his ass. "Who the fuck are you calling a KID?! I'm sixteen, thank you very much!" Realizing she could feel her hand heating up, she looked down to see the makings of a fireball forming in her hand, and quickly put it out before anyone noticed. Or... at least, before she knew someone noticed.

Ben chuckled at her response, someone liked her bendy straws. "I never said they weren't." He nodded in thanks when the bartender brought his drink. Either he had just started a conversation with someone who belonged in a mental institution herself or well, if she was normal this was still going to be an interesting little chat. He laughed and shook his head. "Yeah, people sure are weird these days," Ben muttered as he downed his drink. He grimaced slightly at the burning sensation. It was something that was almost refreshing as blood. As if he knew, the bartender has already brought him another drink.
Feisty. For such a simple comment, he wasn't expecting such a fiery comeback. Literally, he really wasn't expecting anything like that. He jumped back, almost spilling his drink as a fireball formed in her hand. "Fucking hell!" As people turned to look at him, he smiled sheepishly and slowly returned back to his seat, acting like nothing had happened. "Geez, sorry," Ben muttered. "Isn't sixteen still a little young to be drinking though?" He laughed and swirled his drink around. "You're something special aren't ya?"

"Fucking hell!" Alex hadn't exactly expected this, and so jumped when he nearly spilled his drink. Shit, he saw! Ah damnnit, way to go Alex. If Callie, Livi or Bri were here you'd be in soo much trouble. Leola would so kill her... again... the last time she'd used magic in public was at school, when she tried to barbeque a jock, and it hadn't exactly gone over to well. Fortunately last time Leola had stepped in and made everything right, but this time... this time, Leola was gone. And since she wasn't exactly coming back anytime soon, she needed to be able to straighten things up herself. No matter what method she had to use. "You. Saw. Nothing." If threats were needed to keep this guy's mouth shut, then threats were going to be used. And heavily. But for now she would just go with the flow... see where that took things. If that didn't work, she'd use threats. If THAT didn't work... she would kill him.
"Geez, sorry," "Isn't sixteen still a little young to be drinking though?" Alex raised her eyebrows unamusedly at this. Too young? What was he, her dad? Pfft! "Not if the person can hold it. Which," She fakely gasped, "holy shit! I can!" She sighed and rolled her eyes, then picked up her vodka and downed half of it. Alex was hoping that the alcohol would loosen her up a tinge, so she wouldn't make the mistake of losing her temper and nearly blowing the guy's head off in public. "You're something special aren't ya?" Nearly choking on her vodka, she set her glass down and looked over at the guy and eyed him suspiciously. "What all do you know? If you're a friend of Leola's say so here and now otherwise I swear i'm about to take you out back and kick your ass." There was a brief silence, and she grimaced. "I'm sorry. It's the alcohol. It makes my good side go bye bye... um, yeah, I should probably shut up now."

Keeping his composure was difficult, especially after what he just saw. He stuttered to find a response but came up with nothing. It wasn't exactly everyday where you started a conversation with, 'oh hey, you can set me on fire? Awesome!'' Finally, in some strange effort to not seem weird, Ben stuck his hand out. "Ben Kanst. Nice to meet you." Oh yeah, like that made sense, introduce yourself to the girl who was just about to set you on fire. Was he out of his mind? Clearly he was. "So if I did see something, what are you going to do about it?" He grinned, an almost daring tone in his voice.
Her sarcasm was quite appreciated, he rarely met people like this anymore. Ben raised an eyebrow in amusement and stifled his laughter. "Can you really now?" He turned towards the bartender and waved him over. "Ten shots of tequila," Ben winked at the girl sitting next to him. "Want to bet on that?" He stared blankly at her as she seemed to study him. Ben raised his hands in the air and shot her a confused look. "Who?" Maybe this girl really was crazy. "I have no idea what you're talking about....hell, I don't even know what you are," he muttered. "This town is a helluva lot crazier than I remembered it." He watched as the bartender poured the shots. "I'm just out to have a good time. So are you in or are you out?"

"Ben Kanst. Nice to meet you." The witch quirked an eyebrow at him when he stuck his hand out to her. What was she supposed to do, shake it? She wasn't exactly up for being all buddy buddy with anyone else other than the only three people she was close to anymore. But it couldn't hurt to introduce herself and be at least a little friendly... could it? Reluctantly, and cautiously, she reached out and took his hand. Alex's eyes widened, and she froze up stiff; mostly with fear but a little bit of shock from the cold. His hand was like ice... like... like... okay, she was going paranoid now - she hadn't run into a vampire since the Max incident, and some people were human, and people did get cold hands. But his hands weren't the normal human tempeture... knock it off Alex, and say something, damn it! Realizing she had been sitting in silence for a bit now, she quickly recovered and dropped her hand away from his. "Alexandria. But call me Alex or i'll rip out your testicles, stick them in lemon juice and feed them to the neighborhood dogs."
"Can you really now?" "Want to bet on that?" Alex raised both eyebrows now. His tone sounded as if he had something up his sleeve... or whatever. That phrase was so lame. 'up his sleeve.' Pfft, who invented that, anyhow, a looney toons cartoon? She should know. At the Parthenon, she raised all kinds of hell, and whenever she was planning something, she had the same tone. Of course, most of the time, her plannings got her a dumpster dumping, so... she'd been trying to break that habit. "You doubt me?" Alex blinked a couple of times, faking a look of hurt, complete with a pout.
"Ten shots of tequila," She watched Ben as he called over to Nicky for the alcohol, and her curiousity was almost as hot as fire now... no pun intended. She giggled slightly when Nicky grumbled something about minors and alcohol and... well she didn't quite catch it but it sounded close to What the hell was going on in this guy's head? If it involved caos then by all means she would most likely be calling him her bffl. That's all she was looking for, really: trouble. Caos. Fun. The chance to do something that, though she might regret later, she'd love at that moment. "Want to bet on that?" Alex laughed, and scoffed slightly. "A bet. Sure. And what are the stakes, might I ask?" She knew he most likely wanted to see if she could really hold her alcohol, hence the ten shots of tequila, but something told her he had something else planned as well.
"Who?" "I have no idea what you're talking about....hell, I don't even know what you are," Alex sighed and rolled her eyes. "Ugh," She waved a hand of dismissal and shook her head briefly. "Nevermind. She was my... well she was my mentor, I guess. Sort of. Maybe. Not sure what to call her really. But anyhow... im a-- well, im what you said I was. Im something special. And no, im not being cocky." Alex finished off her drink, and slid the glass down toward Nicky with a smile. He gave her a questioning look as if to ask her if she wanted a refill, but she just shook her head. Ten shots of tequila were enough for her already, and on top of the vodka... she'd be lucky if she didn't get wasted. Which, would most likely be her death. No, not from alcohol poisoning - from Demonte. Her adoptive daddy was pretty laid back about her freedom, which she was greatful for, but he could be lethal if pissed off, soo she was going to do the smart thing and try to NOT come home totally, completely and irrevicably wasted.
"I'm just out to have a good time. So are you in or are you out?" Alex pursed her lips tightly in thought for a moment, but only a moment. She had come here for adventure, hadn't she? That's what she was looking for, wasnt it? A good time? So why not? Demonte popped back into her head... but then she shoved him back out. If he wanted to ground her he could. Fine. She deserved it. But he would have to do it later. Much, much later. "Alright fine. I'm in. What's a few shots of tequila, anyhow, hm?"

There was a slight moment of panic when she took his hand. Ben was half expecting to be set on fire. Ugh, fire. He had never been a big fan of the whole, burning thing. But to his surprise, she didn't seem like she was going to turn him into a giant burning ball of flame. Instead, Ben sensed....fear? Well that was something he wasn't expecting. She had seemed far too bold earlier and now, she was scared? Something didn't make sense. It wasn't like she could have guessed he was a vampire either, most humans didn't even know about them. Right? But whatever it was, she covered it up. Ben gave her an odd look but didn't say anything about it. He laughed at her threat and shrugged. "Okay," he held his hands up in a defensive position. "Alex it is and nothing else."
Ben raised an eyebrow and gave her a cocky smirk. "You haven't shown me anything to prove it," he shot back. Adorable, fiery personality, if it wasn't for the fact he was already interested in someone else, Ben would have seriously considered having a go at this one. Human or not, she had caught Ben's interest and now he was putting it to the test. She smelled human and that was good enough for Ben. Being a vampire, he wasn't going to get smashed easily. But ten shots of tequila, that was enough to knock out anyone. And by the looks of it, even if she could hold her alcohol, five shots would have her thoroughly wasted. He furrowed his eyebrows as he thought about the stakes.
She continued talking through his thoughts and Ben only partly listened. He smiled at her attempt to explain herself. Honestly, he had no idea what she was talking about and he just shook his head. "I think we're all special." As he thought of one, a smirk spread across his face. He hoped she was up for this. "All right, I've got it." Ben watched as the bartender poured ten shots for them. "Oh yeah, only a few shots of tequila," he scoffed. A few was putting it lightly. If Ben could do anything about it, he intended to get her completely smashed. "Ten shots for both of us. Every shot you can't finish, you lose an item of clothing."
He grinned, "Are you still in?" And for some reason, he knew she wouldn't turn him down. "Let's get ruined."

"Okay," "Alex it is and nothing else." For a moment she eyed him again, then shuddered a little and looked off to the side. He was still giving her the creeps with how cold he was, and she couldn't help but let her mind linger on the subject. It just wasn't normal. But then, what did she know about normal? She hadn't been normal ever since the day she was born. Bursting her alarm clock into flames in the morning (not normal), having to put it out with a bucket of water that she kept in her closet for that reason exactly (again not normal), and nearly barbequing teenage guys with her bare hands (once again, NOT NORMAL!). So she shouldn't be bothered by this. Right? Whatever. She tried to let it go the best she could.
"You haven't shown me anything to prove it," That cocky smirk of his sent a chill running down her spine like ice cold water, and she had to purse her lips tightly together to hold back a grin. Alright, alright, she had to admitt, he was... charming. In a stubborn, irritating kind of way. And he had style, she gave him that. As well as guts. Normally, no one would be able to get away with testing her the way he was... but she was willing to let it slide for now. Strictly because he sparked interest from her. Besides, a guy like him was most likely paired up with some model with a boob job or whatever. Most guys were nowadays. "Well, then, maybe I should. I have a reputation, you know, and someone doubting me wouldn't be good for that." Alex was mostly known for a) her fiesty personality amd b) her recklessness. Everyone knew she did things without thinking over what could or should or would happen. Everyone knew she just did things. Well, she had to uphold that reputation if she wanted to survive past her senior year at the Parthenon.
"I think we're all special." Alex cocked an eyebrow upward once more. Okay, she had to say something. Her inner fifteen year old was practically screaming at her to say something sarcastic. Sarcasm was like, her thing. She had to say at least ten sarcastic things a day, or she would pretty much self-destruct. And she was only up to three at the moment. Two had been directed at teachers today in school, and both had landed her in detention, her fricking home away from home, and then her third, the comment she'd addressed to Ben not a moment ago when she had told him that she could hold her alcohol. She could. It's just that... ten shots of tequila kiiiind of sort of seemed like more than enough to get her totally and completely wasted, and that was not something she was looking forward to informing Demonte of. If, in fact, she could even speak without sounding way too smashed to function. Which, she most likely would be, since once she'd had ten she was most likely going to want more... and more after that... and so on and so on. "Special as in mentally retarded or special as in supernatural? Or, special as in 'happy'? If you know what I mean. What kind of special are you?"
"Oh yeah, only a few shots of tequila," For a moment, and only a moment, Alex seriously thought he was going to whimp out on betting with ten shots of tequila. And then, he spoke up, and informed her of the bet that would take place between them. "Ten shots for both of us. Every shot you can't finish, you lose an item of clothing." At this, Alex nearly burst out laughing. Instead, she just snickered a bit. "You're joking, right?" He was mental. That was the only solution to the bet's insanity level. Lose an item of clothing? He DID know that she could only hold about... five or six of these things, right? Well damn, he must've been some kind of freak. By the time she was done drinking and couldn't hold anymore, she'd have to be completely naked. And in the middle of the bar she visited the most, too. Well hell, he WAS insane. "Are you still in?" But, then again... Alex pursed her lips for a moment, glanced around the bar, then sighed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure, why not. But YOU'RE the one that's telling my dad." Woah wait. Did she just address Demonte as her dad? Not her adoptive dad. Her dad dad. Was there something wrong with her?... Or, was this double sided? She had no idea. But she was going to do this. No questions asked. "Let's get ruined." She nodded, and picked up her first shot glass. "Shall we?" And with that, she downed the first drink, that would be her undoing.

This was turning out to be quite the night. He had met a gorgeous girl who was willing to get drunk. It didn't help that she was a minor either. Ben absolutely loved the chance to corrupt the youth. Sure that sounded terrible but there was something so gratifying about messing with minors. But she wasn't like any other teenage girl either. No, there was something very different about her that made her stand out. It was just another reason Ben was so drawn to keep this conversation going. "No, now we need to keep that reputation of yours up," he chuckled and shook his head. High school, drama and kids these days. It seemed like those two terms could be used synonymously now. "And just exactly what kind of reputation are you upholding?"
Oh, she would definitely be one to take on his bet. He'd been wanting to try this for a long time now but he could never find anyone brave enough to do it. Besides, the game was a lot easier than strip poker. Wow, he really was a terrible person. This was just another reason why he loved being a vampire. It wasn't often he had the chance to do this. Usually by this point, he would either be, a) slapped or b) kicked out of a bar. It was quite unusual to find a place that didn't mind serving a minor alcohol and leaving them with an older man. God, he loved New York. Her sarcastic remark about his comment caused Ben to shoot her an odd look. Geez, just had to be sarcastic about everything. "Special as in, did we really need that sarcastic little comeback?" Damn, the two of them were probably all kinds of special. He did catch the supernatural special and it made him wonder if she knew about vampires. Ben quickly shook the thought of his head though. That was just ridiculous.
When she agreed to his bet, Ben was absolutely thrilled. This night was just that much better now. There was no way she'd be able to finish all ten shots. He raised his eyebrow at the mention of a father. "Right, I'm going to explain the underage drinking. That's his job," Ben grinned and pointed at the bartender. There was no way in hell that Ben was ever going to stay long enough for a parent to show up. The first sign of any responsible adult and he was out of here. He watched her down the first shot and he shrugged. "Let's go." Ben was contemplating whether or not he should down all ten. It would be fun to see if she would go through with this. Nah, he'd down about seven or eight. Sure he'd lose a few items of clothing but he figured it was better than leaving her all alone.
Ben downed the first two with ease but even his years of drinking weren't enough to make the rest any easier. He still felt the effects of alcohol, they just weren't as strong. Another two down and he was starting to feel light headed. This was some strong stuff. Even he'd probably be fucked up by the end of the night. Pausing for a second, Ben glanced over at Alex to see how she was doing.

"No, now we need to keep that reputation of yours up," The teen shook her head with a smile. "Nope.. that would kind of ruin my high school life. And I would kind of have to kill you for being the one to blame." She was joking, of course, and her tone showed it, but she was being serious about needing to uphold her reputation. If she didn't have that... well, she'd be back to getting tossed into the dumpster behind the school by the jocks every day and night for the rest of her life at the Parthenon.
"And just exactly what kind of reputation are you upholding?" Alex laughed a bit and shrugged lightly. She didn't exactly know how to explain it to someone who hadn't seen everything she'd done since the third grade. "It's nothing, really, just my oh-so-famous recklessness. I've done things that aren't exactly... oh what's the word... saintly? And I never hesitate when i'm doing things. Hesitation just creates a higher risk of something bad happening. Therefore, if you jump while you have the chance, nothing bad happens. That's my theory, at least."
And it was. It was her theory, her guideline, her motto, and her life's story all put into one. Being reckless and sometimes stupid was just how she was. It helped boost her adrenaline hidth, and distract her from the depressing thoughts of her brother's death which she was constantly trying to avoid. Maybe that's why she'd come down to the club that night. To avoid thinking about her brother, and everything they'd been through.
Either or, she wasn't backing out now. "Special as in, did we really need that sarcastic little comeback?" Alex scoffed softly. "Um, yes, we did. Sarcasm is like my thing. I'll quite possibly literally die if I don't say ten sarcastic comments in one day. So far.. i'm only up to two. Or, was it three? Whatever. You get the point." She didn't really know how to explain anything, did she? Clearly Alex Samuels was harder to explain than she thought.
"Right, I'm going to explain the underage drinking. That's his job," Alex laughed when Ben pointed to Nicky, then shook her head. "I don't think he'll be able to. For one, my dad's not coming here, so there's no chance to tell anyone anything, and two, you're the one that ordered the ten shots, hun." If the whole thing ended badly, explainations wouldn't even be able to be squeezed in, with Demonte lecturing her about drinking alcoholic beverages as a minor, trusting a stranger, and an adult stranger at that, and then him yelling at Nicky... and of course threatening Ben's life or whatever. Either way, she was screwed for life.
"Let's go." Alex continued to pick up a shot, down it, pick up another shot, down it, and wince between every drink as the alcohol went down her throat. She loved all of this, though, no matter the sting of the tequila, and when challenged, told, and or dared to do something, she did it. She got to about four, when her head began to throb slightly and the music that was blasting in the background was causing her to have the urge to blow the goddamn sterio to peices. Alex groaned silently when she looked at the other seven shot glasses, bit her lip, and picked up one more, then downed that one as well, with another wince to follow. Yeah... this was most likely not going to end all so well.

High school. Ben had never known what it was like but just hearing about it, high school didn't sound so different from the real world. It was like a mini-scaled down version of the world...with more hormones of course. Now that he thought about it, high school didn't sound so bad. And there was that school, P...something or other. He'd have to look into it. Ben could attempt to pass for at least a senior, if he tried really hard. The best part about it would be that he wouldn't have to worry about grades either."Well that would be a terrible reason to die," Ben chuckled and shook his head.
He laughed as she explained her reputation. "Sounds like you and I could have quite a bit of fun." Okay, that came out a little creepier than he intended but it wasn't like he was joking. If he wasn't seeing someone, Ben would have attempted to go after a girl like Alex. Of course, being tied down didn't stop him from flirting shamelessly. This was probably why he couldn't keep a steady girlfriend. They just couldn't understand that Ben needed his share of entertainment.
Sarcastic and pretty, it didn't get much better than this. Now if she could hold her alcohol better than she could hold her tongue, he would be impressed. "Reckless, sarcastic, that's got to be some reputation you're upholding," he scoffed and ran a hand through his hair. Aw, she just had to bring in the whole parent issue. He would run at the first site of a parent, he hated dealing with them. "If your dad isn't coming, then we have nothing to worry about. And so hopefully, I will have no explaining to do," Ben grinned.
Five shots. Impressive. "Well color me impressed," Ben muttered, his words slurring slightly. Ah well, she still had five more and it looked like she was already struggling. At this point, he was seriously considering downing all the shots just to piss her off. With a practiced ease, Ben downed another two and stared at the remaining four. Let's see, he had a jacket, shirt, that he could afford to lose. Besides, she would probably need to borrow those at the rate she was going. He was considering what he would do with the clothes she lost because he sure wasn't going to let her have them back. Closing his eyes for a second, Ben let the effects wash over him. With a slight groan he downed another one.
Slamming the shot glass down, Ben let out a long sigh and shook his head. "That's seven. I'm out." He held his hands up and almost fell off the stool. He gripped the bar to regain a sense of balance but it didn't help much. "Yeah..I'm good." Ben glanced over at Alex and shot her a lopsided grin. It was almost sad how much fun he was having getting a human drunk. "So how many do you have left?"

"Sounds like you and I could have quite a bit of fun." If she were normal, and not totally comfortable getting wasted with a complete stranger (yes she knew that sounded really really really bad) then she might've gotten creeped out by that statement. But since she wasn't normal, in any way, Alex just raised an eyebrow, and laughed softly. "I bet we could... but, then, I wouldn't want you getting too attached." She winked, and began twirling a strand of her thin brown hair around her finger playfully. "I tend to have that affect on guys, it seems." Alex joked, then laughed again, silently, and shook her head.
Maybe she was a tad crazy. Having a conversation that wasn't simply small talk, with a guy that she'd met just minutes ago, and already flirting like hell, wasn't really going to score her too many good side points with her social worker, let alone Demonte if either found out. Which, is why they weren't going to find out. Picking up one more shot glass, and downing it, she could really feel the effects starting to kick in. She watched Ben slam his shot glass down and shake his head, and quirked an eyebrow. "That's seven. I'm out." It looked as if neither one of them were walking out of that bar wearing too much.
"Yeah..I'm good." Alex laughed, and shook her head. And she thought he'd finish all of his shots in one huge gulp. Guess she was wrong about that. "So how many do you have left?" Alex's eyes dropped down to the four left on the counter, and felt a little dizzy. "Four... soon to be three." She picked up one more, looked at it for a moment, grimaced, and sat it back down on the counter. "Damnnit." The girl sighed, ran a hand through her hair and swiveled her chair around so she was facing Ben all the way, the four remaining shot glasses left on the counter. "Screw that. I'm done."

Ben laughed, shaking his head as he listened to her talk. It was almost too good to be true. "Geez. And where have you been my entire life?" He chuckled. The way things were going, it would be very difficult to keep Ben from trying to sleep with her. She would be drunk and he would be tempted. Dammit, he had no self control. Alcohol plus women, it was like the Roaring Twenties all over again, minus the impending Depression of course. The more shots he did, the less Ben wanted to think about keeping control. Maybe he should just cut back this one time. New city, new people, why shouldn't he have a little fun? He'd worry about the consequences later.
He left three shots despite the fact that he could have downed the rest. But Ben was very surprised to see that Alex was about to catch up to him. He stared blankly at her as she attempted to down another one to make it even. "Goddamn, I didn't think you could drink that much," he muttered in awe. She couldn't drink the last one though and Ben got a sick feeling of satisfaction. He never had much taste for tequila, he needed something to wash the taste away. Ben nodded at the bartender as he passed by. "Can I get a shot of jager and some Red Bull?" The bartender shot a glare at him and Ben grinned. He turned to look at Alex and smiled. "You had enough to drink yet?"
Even if she did say no, Ben wasn't going to let her drink anymore. He did remember that humans were susceptible to alcohol poisoning and he wasn't trying to kill her. As he waited for the drink, Ben peeled his jacket off and pulled out a pack of cigarettes before handing the jacket over to Alex. "So are we doing this here or my place?" He raised an eyebrow and shot her a smirk. Ben pulled a cigarette out and held the pack to Alex. "Want one?" He didn't lit it but jammed it in the corner of his mouth. The drink came and Ben dropped the shot of jager into the Red Bull. He downed the glass and groaned. Damn, he couldn't even remember the last time he drank like this.
