That was eight years ago... the instigation of a war we never thought we would see. It was a battle against humanity, when we had to fight against some of the very people we worked so hard to free.
The year is now 2216. The machines have been in power for over two hundred years and each year finds them with improved technology with which we have a more and more difficult time trying to keep up. They also have humans fighting for them now... people that turned their back on our cause in an effort to halt our progress. They want the bliss of ignorance... they want to return to the facade from which they were pulled... they want to be plugged back in so they can forget everything they've been shown in regards to the way the world really is.
Eight years ago, Zion was invaded and unavoidably taken over. Those of us who escaped worked hard to establish our new city, Ilia. It is a city that provides a home and protection against machine and man. However, we are not safe forever, and we know this. Thus we continue to unplug those who we know will make a difference in our struggle; losing handfuls to the other side when realization hits of what we have done.
The Matrix is more dangerous than ever; the programs are more difficult to hack, A.I. is increasingly resourceful. However, it is a risk we must take to ensure we are not defeated. And as selfish as this sounds, it is necessary to guarantee that we survive. All of us.
War is upon us. Will you fight for man or will you fight for machine?
We are an intermediate to advanced open-plot Matrix RPG based on the concept of the first movie. We offer original content and absolutely no canon list. With eight different character types the sky is the limit.
