Gioia looked down to see that Leon had taken her hand. It felt nice to have that contact. Gioia wasn't much of a hug/touch person. But it was usually Lee who she let hug her and hold her hand. Any other person forget it. "You silly girl. I think you can be evil as hell, but there is a part of you, that you are trying to hide G, your too noble, and your just to good to be truth, I don't know, or maybe I do know, but your putting into yourself a mask"
Lee hit close to home. Putting on a mask, that was Gioia. That was every morning. The mascara, the eyeliner, the lipstick it was all part of the mask. She was the socialite of the school. The one girls wanted to be and boys wanted to be with. Sometimes it went to her head and other times she blew it off. The last think she wanted right now was to let Lee know that he hit home. A smile became painted on her face. The devilish smile that was brought out to hide the truth."Even more evil then the wicked witch of the west?" It wasn't that she didn't want to tell Lee, it was that she was afraid to tell him that he was right. She hated to admit when others were right. Even if they had been best friends ever since Gioia started going to school in Manhattan, she still had a hard time saying he was right.
She retracted her hand from Leon's. If anything she wanted to share all her secrets with him but she couldn't. The wall had been built around her. The ice queen had no heart. That was Gioia. She was the ice queen, refusing to get close to anyone and anything. Lee was the only guy that she let near her. All the boyfriends, they never got any real attention. It was fake. Her head shook as her raven hair swished side to side. "I don't know Lee, it's weird. I feel like I should be hexing people and creating curses. I have no idea what's going on."
