She didn't belong here, that much was obvious from the way she stared openly, and the arms crossed, lips furrowed into a small sneer posture she'd adopted the moment someone else had stepped onto the campus and had yet to release from. It looked almost animalistic, really; the girl barely moved from the seated position with her knees pulled tightly. She didn't even fidget as most would. Brown eyes darted about nervously, staring as more and more students began to enter the campus, eventually invading the wide bubble she'd tried to place around herself. No, Tatiana definitely did not belong.
Not that the small woman minded. Not at all- it only made her job that much easier. Still, it would have been nice to have a blowdrier at her home to keep her hair from dribbling onto the large brown sweater obviously taken from a thrift store. At least the jeans fit halfway decently and weren't wet. Her eyes blinked shut and then open for a moment before continuing their scanning. No, his eyes were brown. Hers were green. Nothing to suggest the pale skin or red eyes she so vividly remembered. Maybe this was a mistake?
No, no, she had searched for too long, and fought too hard to get into this damn school to be wrong now. It would just take more research, more watching of the student body to root out the creatures she so desperately had searched for. Her lips began to move in a soft whisper, barely audible to her ears "If I don't see them by the end of the school year, I'll give it up." A statement she'd made thousands of times, and never with any results. The deadline method: end of the school year, once the medicine starts working, once the memories fade, once I get out: It never resulted in anymore than another promise or another lead to follow. Some part of the girl recognized this, yet it was her life. The hunt for these creatures, to prove they existed to herself, her mother, and those damn doctors. This couldn't be a mistake.

Gioia Hendersen was so ready for school. This year things would be totally different. After all she was finally captain of the pomps team. She wasn't just an average student, after all she had abilities that maybe just that more special. Gioia Hendersen was a witch. And not just any witch, she was a witch with special abilities that most witches wish that had. She could cast spells and mix potions but she could move objects just by thinking about them. After all there was only room for her powers to grow. If anything it would be the worry of Gioia that she would turn into an evil witch. Everything about evil seemed so enticing. She knew that's not why she was blessed with these gifts. But there was something in her that wanted a taste of the dark side. If anything she would have to make sure that she wasn't toeing the line to often. The subway was not Gioia's thing at all. In fact in public transportation was what Gioia turned her nose up at. So it was all in perfect sense that she pulled up in a Lexus. Her new car that she received for her last year at the Parthenon. It helped having rich grandparents and a mother who was never really around. Her life was different then most of the students that went to the Parthenon, if anyone ever knew her past she knew everyone would thin differently of her. After all her past was to be covered up and never revealed into the sunlight. It was never going to be dragged out and Gioia was going to keep that way. As she made it up the steps of the Parthenon, she noticed a brown haired girl. "Must be a newbie." Gioia thought to herself. With each stride of her walk the confident young witch walked up to the new girl. "I totally love that brown sweater. It looks really cute." Gioia put her hand on her hip and smiled at the new girl. "Must be new here eh?" After all Gioia made sure she knew everything at this school. She wasn't exactly the Queen Bee but she made herself very very social. Everyone knew her or at least had her of her. That was what she hoped. She didn't care what people thought about her as long as they were thinking about Gioia Rosamarie Hendersen. wearing: this

Her lips parted, mouth suddenly gone dry as she tried to speak. Tatiana swallowed heavily as she looked up to the girl nervously, nodding "Th-thank you. Yeah, I am." She forced herself to stand, arms still clasped tightly around her middle. This girl was out of her league, and Tatiana knew it.
After all, she'd just arrived in a Lexus for Christ sakes. Tatiana didn't even know how to drive a car, and she'd certainly never seen the inside of a Lexus. Ah well. She'd fought to get into this school, she might as well try to be sociable. "I'm Tatiana. You go here, right?" A stupid question, yes, but she was scrambling for anything to question, eyes glancing down to the uniform "Your clothes look nice too." Oh god, she'd managed to attract the attention of a cheerleader as well. This day would not end well, if the first person she spoke to happened to be the queen of the school. At least she seemed nice, right?
Her eyes darted to the ground and focused there, trying to hide the small shivers the medicine withdrawal had sent her into. "It's very pretty. The color is, I mean." She bit down onto her bottom lip hard, crossing her arms tighter across her middle to the point it looked almost painful.

The raven hair threw back in laughter. Usually Gioia wasn't one to wear blue. Most of the time she preferred black or red. Blue seemed to be popping into her wardrobe a lot more. There was something about it that seemed so enticing. "Why thank you. I'm not really a fan of blue but lately I've been quite taken with it." Gioia looked down at her outfit, yes it was just want she wanted. It screamed notice me. If there was anything in life that Gioia learned it was that there was two types of people in this world, the ones that entertain and the ones that sit back and observe. Guess that philosophy came from having both grandparents involved in Broadway. It was the way she looked at the world. Gioia did everything she could not to roll her eyes as Tatiana asked her if she went to Parthenon. Of course she went here. This was her territory, her life. What did this girl think she was a teacher? Gioia hoped she didn't look that old. As it was Gioia didn't want to life past forty. Something about being old creep her out. "Of course I go here. What you think I teach or something here? Oh hell no, I'm old but I'm not that old." Gioia then stuck her hand out for the new girl to shake, "I'm Gioia, Gioia Hendersen. Friends call me Gio." She paused for a second before continuing. "Well at least I would if I had any friends." The young woman paused even longer. It was a lie but she waited through the awkward silence that came with that. "I'm joking, but please call me Gioia. Only my family calls me Gio since apparently I bring them joy." Or at least they think. Gioia thought to herself. It wasn't hard to read the body language of Tatiana. The crossed arms, the biting of the lip. Gioia thought hard. New schools could be tough, not knowing anyone or the building. Maybe this was Tatiana's way of expressing her nervousness. Gioia wanted to calm her nerves at least just to make sure the poor girl survived the first day. She needed something funny to say to break that ice. The only thing that popped into her head was a scene from Jane Austen Book Club where Grigg meets Jocelyn in the elevator with the girl and the cross arms pretending to be invisible. So Gioia being Gioia decided to insert a witty remark. "The Buffy conference left town but I guess it's still cool to keep the vampire/invisible thing going."

Her eyes flickered up at the last bit, widening. Wrong thing to say. Her hand moved out and grasped the tanned girl's, shaking it weakly. Tatiana released her soon after and grabbed her bag, slipping it onto her shoulder with slightly renewed intrest. This woman was nice enough, and it seemed that she wasn't going to harm her. Might as well attempt to be nice. "That's from a movie, right?" Her arms relaxed to her sides, though the muscles were still tense as she fought to keep the shaking down. "Gioia's a pretty name, though. And blue looks good on you." Her eyes flickered about for a small moment after the last statement, scanning for potential threats. She had to have friends who most likely wouldn't like the brown-haired girl.

Gioia noticed Titiana's tension. She wasn't dumb and figured it was something she said. Maybe she shouldn't have bought up the whole Buffy reference. Impulsive was the weakness of the young witch. "Yeah some movie I saw last year. It was actually kinda cute and help with my Jane Austen project. You ever see Jane Austen Book Club?" Quick save. After all vampires were a myth. But so were witches. It wasn't until recently that Gioia learned that witches weren't just a myth. Maybe vampires weren't a myth. After the way Titiana tensed up, it made Gioia think twice. There was a look in those brown eyes. Something. Fashion. Now there was something that Gioia could talk about for hours. "Why thank you sweetie. I wasn't sure when I bought it but now I'm really starting to like it. See when I saw it in the window..." As she cut herself off, she saw Titiana looking around the school. Of course she would. There were so many different characters that attended the school. Gioia flipped her head around to look to see exactly what the new girl was looking at. Oh yes, all the little cliques. All around the front steps they were there. Just like every high school in the world, it was sectioned off in the same ones. "So which group you want to know about?" Gioia asked. She was the social bee knowing everyone and exactly what clique they belonged in.

"I never saw the movie, no, but I've read Austen. I just figured it was from a movie the way you said it. And anyone. I'm new here." As if she didn't know that. Her eyes flickered around once more "What is your group?" She'd had a 'group' once, the women assigned to her ward. Admittedly, Tatiana had hated them all, but they had been her group. "Where did you buy it from?" She seemed to relax a bit, only to tense up once more as another round of shivering hit her.
Her hands clasped tighter around her waist, clutching the backpack to her almost painfully as she tried to think of something else to say "What grade are you? Maybe we have a class together." She seemed like the type to be easily distracted. Maybe Tatiana could use that to her advantage.

Her group. If Gioia was at liberty to tell her exactly which group she ran with, it would probably scare the poor girl. "Let's just say the school in the palm of my hand. I'm in that group, the very popular and powerful group." She was sure if she told the girl she was a witch the girl might fall over. After the little vampire quip it was clear that girl knew about Supernatural activity. "My last year here, I'm senior. I can tell you exactly which classes you can fall asleep in and get an A." She put her arm around Tatiana as if offering friendship. Gioia's smile became painted across her face. "And Mr. Ellis, yeah he's very interesting. He's just a little different." The girls either swooned over him or had an eerie feeling about him. Gioia did and she wasn't sure what he was. There were many things that she thought he was but wasn't sure exactly what he was.

Olivia Alexis Birch arrived at school after dropping her baby girl at the daycare. Locking up her car, she walked over to the front steps, her blue denim messenger bag on her right shoulder. Her curly red hair caressed her shoulders and her fair skin blushed slightly when she noticed some kids looking at her after a moment. Deciding to ignore them, she sat down on the steps and took out her Ipod. Putting her earbuds in her ears, she pressed PLAY and tried to relax, but ended up worrying about her daughter instead.
Relax, she ordered herself mentally, she's fine. Taking a deep breath, she concentrated on the song that was playing. She was still getting over separation anxiety and the added stress of the first day of school wasn't helping much. Opening her eyes, she looked around and saw two girls talking quietly to one another about something. As she watched them, she felt curious about what they were talking about.

Charlie stared out at the students with ice blue eyes. She knew there would be vampires here, but what else? She had never run into anything but Vampires, some Werewolves, and some Shifters, and that was all. But she had heard rumors about...other things out there. her eyes happened upon one girl, with an odd beauty. The girl was looking at every single student here. Was she another slayer? After a few more moments, she decided no. No slayer would be so openly....reckless. This girl would be spotted from when they first set eyes on her. She looked half crazed, and anxious. Charlie was about to go up to her, and ask her what she was looking at, but then Gioia Henderson decided to torment the girl. Charlie scoffed from her spot at the head of het stairs. By Torment, she meant 'befriend'. The only girls Gioia were friends with were snobby rich girls. And that girl was not snobby, and was not rich. She decided to go up to Gioia, she liked the girl, honestly, she was full of such life and had such a firey spirit, not to mention, she was a damn fine actress, and president of the drama club.
"Miss. Henderson, are you trying to recruit another girl to the dreaded poms?" She asked in her throaty 'whiskey' voice, an easy smile on her face.

As Gioia was trying to make Tatiana just a little bit more comfortable, she felt better about herself. It was her good girl scout deed of the day. But just as things were going well, well at least in Gioia's eyes she heard footsteps approaching. "Miss. Hendersen, are you trying to recruit another girl to the dreaded poms?" Gioia spun around upon hearing the voice of her drama teacher. Charlie was one of the few teachers that she actually liked and arrived to class on time. It was probably because drama was one of her favorite subjects. But there was something about Charlie Andrews that Gioia couldn't quite put her finger on. Although she always dismissed that feeling since drama teachers were always the cool ones. It probably just was the coolness that projected from her. With a devilish grin she answered. "Actually I was trying to recruit her for drama club. Figured we needed a few more great talented actresses. Am I not right Miss Andrews?" She turned to Tatiana. "Tatiana this is the amazing Miss Andrews, our drama teacher." She leaned into Tatiana. "She's one of the cool teachers. Trust me on that. Now the chorus teacher that's a different story..." A laugh rang out from Gioia. So far it seemed to be a good day.

Olivia watched as a teacher with short curly dark red hair walk up to the two teen girls and began to talk to them. She wondered again what they were talking about, but resisted the urge to walk up to them. They clearly were having a private discussion or something close to it and she didn't want to interrupt them. Taking out a parenting book from her messenger bag, she opened it up and began to read from where she had left off the previous night. As she read, her eyes often strayed away from the page and back at the small group of women.

She didn't mind sinking into the safety of Gioia, eyes gazing widely at the teacher. She took a moment to long to look at her, noting the color of the woman's eyes and narrowing her own. No, too tan, and the wrong color. She smiled weakly and nodded "I've...I've never done drama. I don't mind trying though." She'd give herself the excuse of being closer to the school to ease her concience later. In truth, drama club sounded fun, and if this woman was as kind as Gioia Tatiana was bound to enjoy it.
Her shaking had eased in her body for the moment as she relaxed and smiled up to the woman broader, glancing over and noticing the redhead girl. Her smile dropped for a moment, then resumed, though more forced. She looked nervous too. Her hand raised slowly, pointing to the girl and glancing to Gioia "Who's that?"

Noticing one of the girls looking at her, Olivia hoped that someone was behind her. Sure, she wanted to know who they are, but she didn't want to be looked down on as a freak that watches people talk. Beginning to put her stuff away, she hoped that they didn't see the title of the book that she had been reading. Why did I bring a parenting book to school? she wondered, regretting it now. That's all she needed, people making fun of her, because she had a child before graduating high school.

Charlie tilted her head to the side. This girl was a human, yet she viewed the world as if looking for something. She saw her eyes stray on Charlie's eyes, she was looking for vampires. You could tell by the eyes, most of the time, but these days you had to be careful. some kids wore contacts that looked like the eyes of a vampire, and some vampires wore contact to make their eyes look normal. She smiled at what Gioia said.
"Really?" She glanced at Gioia for a second, then back to the girl. "We'd love to have you,"
She glanced at the red headed girl that she pointed to, and smiled warmly to Olivia Birch. She was one of the only students here who had a child, Charlie felt kind of bad for her, if Charlie had went through school with a child, she would probably just drop out for a while, then get rid of the kid, she would not subject a kid to grow up like she did.
She waved to her, and beckoned her over.
