Athenodora never understood love. Only lust. Only obsession and desperate need. Only seduction. But things were a little different now. After she met the handsome and playful Ben, she began to question herself and her ideas about attraction and "love." But she would never tell him that. For her, the interest was peaked and once she was interested, it took a lot to keep her from getting what she wanted. She strode up the bar. Rave's were never her thing. She scoffed a little as the lights flashed and the people all danced, smashed together in a fashion that made Athena want to shiver with pleasure: if she ever was in that situation, she would go on a killing spree. Sighing a bit, she leaned against the bar and waited. She asked him to come meet her there. After their last, late night game, she couldn't wait to feed with him again. It had been a challenge to get into the V.I.P party and even more of a challenge to learn a human out to a private place where they could feed. But they had succeeded. A grin flew across her mouth. It had most certainly been a good time. And tonight, she hoped, would be the same. --- Clothing:www.polyvore.com/night_out/set?id=16019165

If it was possible, he was going to have a seizure. All the flashing lights, the flailing humans, it was quite comical really. Ben hated these raves and honestly he was starting to question his reasons for being here. Maybe she wasn't going to show up. Well, even if she did show up, Ben wasn't sure how he was going to spot her in this crowd. And yet, somehow he knew that he would find her tonight. All the doubts in his mind were erased when he saw Athenodora.
There was something about her that just brought him back to animalistic roots. The previous night had been something. In just a single moment, she was able to bring out the bloodlust that he had tried to control. Now it was taking over him again and he desperately needed to feed. Just a single day was enough to drive him crazy. He could hardly keep the amused grin off his face as he approached her. "Please don't tell me we're going to stay here long," he shot her a sheepish grin. "I think I may just have a seizure."

His wit was something that she found most attractive. She grinned at him. "Of course not! No. This place is far too constricting," She said, taking a sip of some sort of deep wine. She looked around them, especially at the dance floor. She turned back to him, still grinning devilishly. "You see, a kill here is quite easy. There's no risk or challenge involved." She smiled, licking a little drop of wine off her bottom lip. "Come," she said, taking his wrist and leading him outside. It had rained heavily and only just stopped a few moments ago. The streets and grass were still wet. The night sky was cloudy, though the moon revealed itself now and again, setting a rather haunting mood for the night. She shivered in anticpation, like a wild cat who had just been released into the wild again. She took a minute to look around and then back at him. "Tell me, Ben...have you ever," a dark smile painted itself across her face as she reached over to see a hand on one of his shoulders. "been on the news?"

He sighed in relief when she said they wouldn't stay long. She was right, this place was way too constricting. With the pounding bass, he could hardly hear his own thoughts. At her comment, Ben raised an eyebrow, the amusement clear in his grey eyes. "I hope that means that you've found a challenge for me then?" Oh he hoped she had. Humans really were getting far too easy to kill.
As she grabbed his wrist, Ben was more than happy to follow her. The cool air was refreshing compared to the stifling atmosphere inside. He could still taste the rain that lingered on the buildings. Ben closed his eyes and took a deep, necessary breath. "Much better."
His gaze wandered towards the sky and he smiled at the sight of the full moon. They wouldn't be the only ones out tonight. At her question, Ben's attention snapped back to her and he tilted his head curiously. "No," he murmured thoughtfully as he relaxed into her touch. "I can't say I have. Now what do you have in mind?"

She smirked at the amusement in his eyes. "Dear Ben," She said, toying with the hair on his head, twirling it around her finger. "You should know," She said, staring into his eyes, "That, with me, everything is a challenge," She grinned. Placing her hands on her hips, she laughed a little. She rubbed her bare arms in pleasure. "It feels so wonderful to be free," She murmured, gazing up at the moon that she loved so much. "Aro liked to lock me in," She said. "Just goes to show...you can't keep people like us in forever," She winked. A devilish grin appeared on her face. "I hope you remember James, from not long ago. He terrified the small city of Forks into thinking that their was some great beast that was waiting just outside their city, when, really, it was just his coven feeding." She took his arm and linked it with her own. "I propose," She said, gazing up at the streets around them "That we do the same. But on a bigger scale. Create something that will terrify people. We'll lead the police on. Make clues. Build the suspense. All the while, getting as much food as we could ever want." She smiled. "What do you say?"

Ben grinned, chuckling lightly. He wouldn't have expected anything less from her. It seemed his stay in this city would be quite fun and he was beginning to enjoy his choice to move here. "I'm glad to hear that," he smirked. "Finally, something different for a change. Just what I've been looking for."
Watching her closely, he leaned against a wall and crossed his arms. "This Aro guy sounds like a real downer," Ben scoffed and pulled out a box of cigarettes from his pocket. Smoking was a strange habit he had kept with him since his turning. He grasped one of the sticks between his fingers and placed it between his lips but he didn't light it yet. His smile grew at her comment. "Free spirits."
He raised an eyebrow at the mention of James. Maybe Ben had heard something in passing but he couldn't remember much about the incident. "Must not have been too interesting, can't say I remember him," he shrugged carelessly. Clearly it wasn't worth his time. No, Ben was much more interested in where this conversation was leading.
As she talked, Ben seemed to be deep in thought but he was only trying to hide his eagerness. When she finished Ben turned to face her, standing dangerously close to her. "Where have you been my entire life?" Ben chuckled jokingly. "I say, that is the best idea I've heard in...forever. I'd kill to be in on something like that."

She rose an eyebrow and smirked. "Oh my dear Ben," She said, still playing with his hair and standing close to him. "With me, everything is different." She laughed; her laugh a clear peel of bells. "It's part of the whole package, my dove," She said, pulling away and tweaking him on the nose with a pleasant wink. Smoking was glamorous to her. She enjoyed watching him puff elegant tendrils of smoke through his handsome mouth and out into the air. She sighed and leaned against the wall next to him. "Yes. Yes, he was. He was, as they say, a douche." She gave him a grin that said that she has moved on and that she intends to give him hell for his choice. She nodded. "It's rather unimportant, I suppose. He had a small coven. Had a run-in with the ever-so elusive Cullen family. But before that, he and his coven fed quite a lot, creating this idea that some horrid creature was feeding on anyone who wandered to far in the woods." She shrugs. "He's dead though, thank God. He had horrid fashion sense. Besides that, he was always trying to get me to sleep with him, whenever he visited us at Volterra. Stupid boy."She chuckled. In turn, Athenodora was trying to hide her own eagerness. She enjoyed the fact that she was the young woman who could make him lust for blood again. It gave her a sort of satisfaction and bliss. As he turned to her, she enjoyed his closeness. She enjoyed the feeling of desperately wanting to kiss him, so much so that her lips seemed to buzz with it. She chuckled a bit. "Well thank God, I'm here now. Where shall we start?"

"I'm starting to see that," he grinned as he put an arm around her waist. Ben bowed his head slightly as she played with his hair and he chuckled lightly. He wrinkled his nose and laughed at her wink. As she pulled away, he pushed away from the wall, ready to follow her. A lighter appeared his his hand and he cupped the fire to lit his cigarette. His amused grin returned at her harsh comment. "To put it bluntly, yeah that's a pretty good way to describe him."
While it seemed like he was paying attention, Ben was more tangled in his thoughts. Athenodora had brought back a bloodlust in him and he wasn't sure what it was yet. It was far too early to call it love but it was merely an attraction. Besides, Ben didn't know what love meant anymore. Relationships had never been a skill of his. But she did intrigue him and that was more than enough to keep him here. He shook the thoughts out of his head and continued to listen to her. Ben smiled at her comment about his fashion sense. "Well if he was stupid enough to get himself killed, then he really doesn't deserve much attention."
Ben was close to her but he wasn't quite ready to make a move. No, he rather enjoyed this teasing. He could contain his own lust for just a while longer. Crushing the cigarette beneath his heel, Ben closed the gap between them with a light step. Now inches from her, he couldn't keep the smirk off his face. "I hear the Cullens are in town. I say we start with them."

She giggled, not shying away from his touch. Instead, pressing close to him and smiling. She adored his sweet reaction. She also appreciated his willingness to follow her. He did not force her to follow him, like a certain someone else that she knew. She turned to him and smiled wickedly. "Oh well. Soon enough...he'll get what he deserves."Athenodora watched him as she spoke, taking in the smell of him, taking in every inch of his skin. She did not understand love either. But, for him, she was quite willing to take a chance. She could most certainly see the two of them sharing a world together where nothing really mattered and they could live wherever, do whatever. A world with no rules. A world dictated by only passion. She laughed. "Perhaps you're right. Besides, he was never a very smart boy. Going after the Cullen family is not always a smart idea. Especially when the Volturi has a close eye on them."She enjoyed this teasing. It was wonderful to her. But, she would not wait forever. He would have to make a move soon. Though, secretly, she felt as though she would be willing to wait an eternity, if he was at all interested. She found this...almost lovesick feeling an odd mix of disgusting and wonderful all at once. She hated being the sort of girl to gaggle over some simple boy. But, he was no simple boy, it seemed. Her eyebrow rose. "The Cullen's you say? Hmm...Interesting,"She squinted her eyes, staring at the reflection of the moon on one of the building windows. "What would you suggest doing? Perhaps killing a human and living it on their grounds for dead; framing them for it and causing the wrath of the Volturi? Or should we leave them for last? As a sort of fabulous finale and a bit of a 'shove it' message to the Volturi?"

Ben chuckled as she pressed close to him. It was at that moment he felt something that was quite foreign to him. Not that he'd never felt it, no it was just something he hadn't felt in a very, very long time. If he wasn't mistaken, it was...affection? His smile faltered for a second as a brief memory of his human life flickered through his mind. It was shocking how much he had changed since...no, he couldn't think about this.
When she spoke, Ben was quick to flash her a quick grin. He rested his head lightly against hers and laughed lightly. "You'll get your revenge soon enough." Turning to her, he kissed her forehead and slid his hand down her arm. Carefully, he intertwined his fingers with hers and shot her another amused smirk. It was unlike him to show this type of sentiment but strangely enough, he was quite comfortable with it.
She was right about the Cullen's. Ben had been rather rash in his decision. "True, the Volturi do have a close eye on them...too close." Not yet then. He bit his lip in thought. "No, the Volturi and the Cullen's aren't foolish enough to simply let themselves be framed for something like that." Saving them for last sounded best. "Let's make ourselves known first. We'll kill, feed and do whatever we want...just to let both the Volturi and the Cullen's know that we listen to no one."
He grinned, chuckling softly. This was all too perfect. "Let's just have fun tonight."

Her brain went haywire. This was something so new to her. He actually... cared. It was so wonderful to her. It was something that Aro had never given her. He'd only allowed himself to obsess over her. But this was utterly wonderful. She realized that this was something that she had always wanted, all along. When she toyed with men, lusted after them...it was only her soul trying to fill some deep need with something very shallow. It was tragic that she had spent such a long time trying to prove that she wasn't alone. But beautiful, because now, she wasn't alone. She gazed up at him, into his eyes. The affection made her skin prickle pleasantly. "And, will you be there with me, when I finally do get back at him?" She asked quietly. It was a dangerous question. They didn't know each other that well. This could drive him away. Perhaps she was going to fast for him. Still. She gazed up at him, her eyes gentle but strong. Truly did she enjoy his reckless abandon. His willingness to make trouble and enjoy every second. It was far too perfect. His defiance was very appealing to her. She laughed. "We'll just show them that we're a force to be reckoned with. Show them who is really in control." She grinned, a little wickedly. She grinned. He was perfect. "And our first victim? I'm thinking...perhaps start off with an innocent shop clerk and kill the cops when they show up? Leave the bodies all bloody and give something for the great city to wake up to?"

This was all too good to be true. Ben had hoped to find something new in this city but never anything like this. New York had made him lose his bloodlust but now it seemed, this city was helping it to find it again. Her question threw him off slightly though. Was he willing to make such a commitment? Ben looked back at her, blinking blankly at her. His grip on her hand tightened slightly as he struggled to find a response.
After all these years, would he be able to finally move on and start a new relationship? Well, he honestly had nothing to lose. "Yeah, I suppose I will," Ben mused softly. With those words, he smiled slightly and nodded. "I have always wanted to see the Volturi fall."
A new life, that was all he was looking for. And it seemed he had found it quite unexpectedly. "Let's take New York by storm then," he grinned and ran a hand through his hair. Her plan sounded so perfect, it would be a great opportunity to sharpen up on his hunting skills again.
"I absolutely love the sound of that," he smirked. "What are we waiting for then?" The night was still young. Just thinking about all that blood and chaos was positively thrilling.

She felt his grip tighten. Oh God. She had gone too fast. Her heart raced. She had gotten so attached already. Stupid, mad girl! She cursed herself! How could you drive him away?! She suddenly caught herself being self-conscious. She had never been this way before. Ever. Especially with a man. Usually, it didn't matter if a man didn't like her. She would just get rid of him. Or toy with him and leave him worse off than before. Her face lit up, bright as the moon. She smiled. "Then we'll both bring them down. Together."Together.Athenodora found this word odd. She had never used it. She was an independent woman. She needed no one. Until she found him. And suddenly she found herself looking through a window into a world where she never had to be alone. But he was no less than her. All the other men had been below her. She used them. Treated them like dirt. But this man...he was on the same level. It was an odd thing for her. But she found it so very charming. And intriguing. They would flourish together. Push each other to their limits. Challenge each other. And love every second of it. She giggled. She liked it when he ran his hands through his hair like that. It made the urge to kiss him almost unbearable. She nodded. "They'll never know what hit em."With reckless abandon, she took him by the arm and began to run through the streets, cackling with glee. She could live this way every day, any day. She stopped suddenly at one of the stores. A bookshop. One that she had seen some of the witches in. And occasionally the Cullens. Perfect. "This is perfect,"she explained. "This will send the perfect message to the Cullens and the Volturi, all in one."She grinned and looked in to see the shop owner closing up. She winked. "Ready?"

Together. Now that was a word he hadn't heard used in a while. But somehow, it still sounded nice. The possibility of having someone there for him. It was all so strange and comforting at the same time. He gave her a genuine grin and nodded. "Together." And for the first time, Ben was considering taking her as a mate. The things they could do together. Killing had always been fun but to share it with someone else, well that was just positively thrilling. And what better way then with someone who shared his animosity towards the Volturi. It was almost too perfect. "We'll make sure they know and fear our names."
As she grabbed his arm, Ben was slightly startled and stumbled. But he soon caught up to her pace and ran behind her. The wind rushing through his hair, not a care in the world. He laughed as they ran through the streets, brushing past the humans. When she stopped, Ben almost ran into her. He snaked one arm around her waist and peeked over her shoulder to see what store she had chosen. "A bookstore?" He raised an eyebrow but didn't question her choice any further.
Sending a message the Cullens and the Volturi? Well, that was all he needed to hear. "Of course I'm ready." With that, Ben glanced across the street and in a blink of an eye, he he had snuck up behind the unsuspecting owner as she was turning the lock. With one hand pressed firmly against her mouth and his other arm holding her close, Ben smirked. The smell of fear was thick in the air and Ben ran his tongue over his fangs. He could practically taste the blood already. Using the hand that was clamped over he mouth, he pulled her head to the side so that her neck was exposed. "You first," Ben grinned and looked up at Athenodora.

She grinned. Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined falling in love with a man like Benji. Or falling in love at all. But Ben was completely amazing. Not someone she could've dreamed up. Together. She used to have a loathing for the word. Together meant tied, bonded for the rest of eternity. Stuck. But with Ben...it meant freedom. Sweet freedom. She bit her lip and threw an arm around his strong neck. She grinned up at him. "A bookshop."She confirmed. This book shop symbolized sweet beginnings. She turned to face him and threw her hands around his neck. "This is it. This book store is the beginning. The beginning of the end of the Volturi."She breathed in sweet air and smiled. The beginning of a better life...hopefully, a better life with Ben by her side. She loved watching him run his tongue over his teeth like that. It made her smile. She moved behind the bookshop owner, listening to her whimper. She didn't like female blood much. But, for Ben, she would be willing to drink female blood, or even (shudder) animal blood, for the rest of her life. She leaned over and bit the woman's neck heavily, sucking in for a few moments. She looked up at Ben with some blood dripping beautifully from her mouth, her fangs dripping crimson diamonds. "Your turn,"She smiled, her eyes as wide and as innocent as a doe.
