It is common knowledge that those who are born into wealth and raised in a higher standard of living are not satisfied with a simple week in the historical glory that is Colonial Williamsburg. While Gia did appreciate the historical value of all of her beloved USA, the history overseas was so much more potent and awe inspiring. Greece was her personal favorite and she was finally there. Walking along the shores of what was rumored to be the real Troy, Gia couldn't help but think of that terrible Brad Pitt movie. Okay, the movie had a couple names, clothing, weapons, fighting style and fact correct but it was mostly wrong. As someone who had read the Iliad more than a couple times, watching that movie made her cringe and she wasted no time in getting thrown out the theatre for throwing her drink at the screen -- all over a bleeding and adorably cowardice Orlando Bloom, much to the fangirls in the theaters pain. True, the great Hollywood machine couldn't be perfect when it came to movies about legends like the Trojan war but couldn't it at least put in some effort? Sitting on a large rock formation, she vivifly remembered how the movie blatantly ignored that the war was ten years long, how Priam's wives (all ? of them) were alive during the war, how Priam also supposedly a hundred children, and how Paris was married to Oenone when he returned with Helen and even had a son (both of whom were banished from the palace). Despite all that, it was probably the ending that annoyed her the most, how it depicted Helen, Paris, Andromache and her son escaping the city with other Trojans. Factually, all of them either died or were taken by Greeks as concubines. Shaking her head, effectively eradicating all thoughts of the horrendous movie from her mind, Gia thought about the core of the story: love. While the movie may have sucked, it certainly got the love stories right. It was the story of Hector and Andromache that was her favorite and she longed to have a love like theirs. Yes, theirs ended quite badly, like most romances did in Greek tales, but they never once doubted each other, never faulted, and never gave up. In some stories, when the Greeks invaded Troy, Andromache actually killed herself and her son to avoid capture and enslavement, and to be reunited with Hector. Was it possible, in such a modern jaded existence, that love that strong could exist? And, if it did... "Where the hell is mine?" she muttered to herself, glaring out at Posedion's -- nothing more than a rapist in her mind, the bastard -- sea. No matter it seemed to get to him, he let the feeling of knowing she was alone slide. Adam stood in the dark room, letting the chilling red glow illuminate his skin. In the dark shadows behind his eyes, he could seem the gentle picture of her form. Her soft blonde hair and her brown eyes, that her Father proudly gave her. Every little detail of her existence was written in his expanded memory. His eyes flashed black, revealing part of his true form before going back to his shell.
Closing his eyes, a feeling he wanted came to mind. It was soft and fleeting usually what the monkeys called humanity and it was Gia’s. His chest jerked forward and his mind centered on her feeling till it drew him in, into her mind. A new environment adapted to his senses and he opened his eyes only to be blinded by the scadling light.
All he had were thoughts, no true emotion to attach to them, but only emotions he stole from other witches. Her scene was thicking in the air, and only he could watch her. Never touch, the official rule. Written in blood below, but breaking the rules was the allure, yet he was breaking the rules already. Taking in every detail, he couldn’t control himself without twitching to touch her once more. One week as professor and he still didn’t have the chance to met her. This is was it…no holding back, no longer shall my patience kill another.
Thinking back to his human traits, he straighten his tie and kept his eyes on her and walked in her direction. He stopped a few yards behind her, feeling something unusal tug at him, but he sucked whatever it was away and tapped her shoulder.
“Miss?” He said, fighting the urge to say Gia. He knew everything about her, but to be a complete stranger in her eyes was almost punishment enough. “You dropped this I believe” He held up a silver ring that her friend bought her 3 years ago and took her hand and slid it on her finger. Her touch was so warm, so tempting and he could even feel the power moving through her skin.

"Miss?" Turning around at the voice, Gia froze and just stared. "You dropped this I believe." Dazed, she let him place the ring back on her finger. Just to make sure she wasn't dreaming, she gripped his hand and let out a breathy chuckle.
He was real. For so long she thought maybe she had just imagined him but she hadn't. She hadn't!
It made no sense whatsoever. Three years ago, when she had first used her healing ability, he had appeared to her. She remembered finding that stranger and trying CPR and then, the next thing she knew, she was in a cold dark box, naked under a sheet. Gia remembered crying, screaming, kicking and banging on the walls around her before she was finally pulled free. And it had been him. At fourteen, she had never even seen a morgue and didn't understand why until much later why she had waken up there.
And she certainly never questioned what he had been doing there. All she cared about was how he had helped her escape the hospital without being seen. She'd never even learned his name, but she never forgot his voice. He had told her -- or ordered, rather -- that she should be more careful before he disappeared. She hasn't seen him, her "angel", anywhere since except in her dreams.
Until now.
Starstruck, she didn't know what else to say except, "It's you." A laugh left her mouth and she couldn't help but stare at him, shocked. "I can't believe this. All this time, and here you are."

The look on her face has his insides jumping and screaming. His move happened to fast and too soon. Dammit he considered, watching her eyes. After awhile she should have forgot, most humans do…usually after a good number of years. Her warmth was starting to extend through his hands and a slight shiver shook his hand.
With a practiced smile, he patted her hand and painfully took his hand away. Her heart was beating…a emotion that he learned to be remembence. Others remembered it when he showed once more to be their Angel of Death.
“It’s you. I can’t believe this. All this time and here you are.” His mouth opened to say her name, to utter it with a full meaning, but he knew everything would and crumble like the old city. Pulling once on his tie, he stood from her side. “I’m sorry you must confuse me with someone else,” The words so rehearsed were still so hard to say—yet she made it easier to say them cause the end result protected them both.
The cold extior threathen to appear, but he twitched and the smile was back. “Adam—My name is Adam,”

With a rather phony looking smile, he patted her hand and separated them. Gia frowned, confused at the action, and stared at him. She stared and waited for some kind of an explanation. Her heart was beating so fast she could barely stand it. God, she felt like a child in puppy love. Every sense seemed to be heightened around him and, yet, he was looking at her as if she was a stranger.
Pulling at his tie, he moved away slightly apologized. "I'm sorry you must confuse me with someone else." Brow furrowed, she shook her head a little and opened her mouth to protest when he spoke again. This time, he spoke with a smile. Adam. He said he name was Adam.
"It's nice to finally put a name with the face." With a tight swallow, Gia nodded her head and laughed a little. "You're lying. I know you are. You have a tell. Fidgeting with clothing, like your tie?" Reaching out, she tugged on the tie with an amused smile. "It's a clear give away of a lie." Taking a step closer to him, trusting him completely and not afraid at all, she inhaled and looked up at him. "You saved me. You can trust me. So why would you lie to me?" she whispered to him, genuinely confused.

It was a strange sort of pain, not truly painful, but it pumbled his insides. Bruising his ribcage and yet he couldn’t stop such a action. "It's nice to finally put a name with the face." His smile fell and he stared into her eyes not wanting her to look away. Deep in her dark blue eyes, lied her soul. It was a beautiful smoky creature, tainted white for her good intentions. So pure, his hand flinched wanting to reach out to her, but her laugh snapped him back into his postion.
"You're lying. I know you are. You have a tell. Fidgeting with clothing, like your tie?"
His eyes looked down slowly at his worthless piece of clothing and realized his vessel was acting out, taking his own form of control. With each step she took, his fingers squeezed into his palm. His eyes stared deep into hers and he took her firmly by the arm.
"You saved me. You can trust me. So why would you lie to me?"
“Miss G-“ He stopped himself with closing his eyes. With every muscle he pryed his hand away and looked once again do to her. “I’m not…but I’d love to take a walk with you to explain myself.

Again, she watched his smile fade and wanted to brush away the furrow of his brow. His eyes, such a wonderous blue, bore into her that he took her very breath away. If the eyes were the window to the soul, then he was setting hers ablaze. Just as they had in her dreams since she'd first seen them.
His hand firmly on her arm, she shuddered as he spoke, "Miss G--" He stopped himself and shut his eyes. It was kind of cute the way he was fumbling over this. But when he pulled his hand away from hers, again, she frowned. Why was he not just admitting that he knew who she was? "I'm not...but I'd love to take a walk with you to explain myself."
"A man actually admitting he's wrong and willingly explaining himself?" she questioned, smile returning in amusement. "Well, this I can't wait to hear!" Laughing, she took his hand in hers and pulled him along the shore. Suddenly remembering how he had pulled away from her before, she dropped his hand and gave him some space. "I have so many questions I want to ask you!" she exclaimed.

Her smile had him stuck in a loop, one that reminded him of the past emotions he had enjoyed so thoroughly. Ones that left him in a complete daze and whenever she showed them it slowly broke him all over. He had seen the very worst of her, moments that she had best lost in her memory. He looked down to see her fingers intertwined with his. Her warmth was sending shivers up his arms, the light feeling of human emotion.
How he used it as a drug, to send his mind set after witches in their weakest states and yet he felt weak under Gai’s emotion. He choose not to squeeze back, but let her guide him with her. The cold slate he was holding inside him was breaking, slow cracks that had started too scores ago. Then for no reason, his hand was dropped falling to his side.
I have so many questions I want to ask you!"
Her happiness slowly powered him and he walked and faced her. “Questions? But—“ No, he dare not deny it. Threatening her intelligence was not something he intended to do, not for their first official meeting. Looking over her head at the sand, he didn’t want to meet her eyes. “I think you can only have 3 questions.”

As Adam walked around to face her completely, Gia stopped in her tracks. "Questions? But-" He stopped and she waited for him to continue. He looked almost nervous before a decisive look over came him. "I think you can only have 3 questions," he finally said. It was nice to finally have this moment, but the fact that he wasn't looking her in the eye bothered her.
"Just three, huh? That hardly seems fair but I understand. I can't expect you to just tell me everything all at once," she replied. After all, where was the fun in him telling her everything? "So, first question." Gia paused and moved away from him, pacing a little as she thought.
So many questions ran through her mind, but which ones should she ask? What were the most important things for her to know, right now, in the moment? For all she knew, she'd never see him again after this. He could up and disappear for another three years! Nodding to herself, she turned to face him.
Seriously, she said, "Question one: Why were you in the morgue that day?" Staring at him, she crossed her arms and walked a little closer to him. "Question two: Why did you just disappear without a word, without ever telling me...anything?" she asked, a little angrier than before, walking even closer to him. "And, question three," she began, standing toe-to-toe with him. Reaching up, she gently placed her hand on the side of his face, making him look down at her. "Are you going to disappear again?" she whispered, trembling.

When she moved away, his eyes fell to look at hers. A strange feeling came into his mind when he watched her mouth. What was she going to say? What did she really want to know? Why so many questions for something that hasn’t happened yet? Shaking his head of the strange thoughts, he waited impatiently for her to talk.
“Question one: Why were you in the morgue that day?"
She stepped closer to him.
"Question two: Why did you just disappear without a word, without ever telling me...anything?"
Her emotions were hightening, keeping him on edge.
“And Question three—“
Phenex stood silent, not wanting to intimdate her in any way, but she was too strong to recognize that. Feeling the movement between them stiffen, he looked to see her in front of him.
"Are you going to disappear again?"
“Gia-“ He started, not being able to control the impulse to fake any other emotion. No lies, he had that right for her. To answer her question in a moral human manner. “I was there for you. Its my job to make sure nothing ever harmed you in any way possible,” No emotion means no connection…no problem.
Taking his hand, he brushed a piece of hair from her face then raised her chin. “To your second question—I had to.”
Leaning in close to her face, he felt his forehead press against hers. “And to your final question—I don’t want to.”

Gia waited patiently for answers. She was nervous and anxious about what he might say but he just stood there, silent. Christ, the man could have been a statue with the way he was standing there! Was he even blinking? Gia wasn't sure but she did know that he stiffened with every step she took until she was right in front of him.
"I was there for you. Its my job to make sure nothing ever harmed you in any way possible." His job? What kind of job did he have that meant he had to protect her? And protect her from what exactly? Those questions soon flew out of her mind as his hand brushed back some hair and raised her chin. His skin was warm, comforting. "To your second question—I had to." Leaning in close to her face, she closed her eyes, expecting a kiss, but was surprised to feel his forehead press against her own. “And to your final question—I don’t want to.”
Taking a deep breath, Gia closed her eyes and smiled. All of her emotions rose up at once, almost bring her to tears of joy, but she held back and simply put her hands on his shoulders. "Good. Because I don't want you to go. So, I have just one more question," she began, looking up at him nervously. "Where do we go from here?"
