HISTORY ! Born as Benedykt Jakub Kanst in the Napoleon controlled territory of current day Poland, the only child grew up in a time of turmoil for Poland. Throughout most of his childhood a series of rebellions tore through the newly established Duchy of Warsaw, sending Ben's father to join the volunteer Polish legions. When Napoleon was defeated, Poland was split between countries and the nation turned to fighting for their independence. Ben followed in his father's footsteps and enlisted in the Polish army. In 1826 at the age of twenty-four, Ben married his childhood friend Alicja and the couple had their first child, Adam. The family lived happily despite the rising tension between Poland and Russia. As nationalistic pride began to grow, Ben joined the resistance fighters in the move against Russia and set out to help his country. But after the failed November Uprising, Ben was among the six thousand resistance fighters exiled to France.
It was there, away from his family where Ben met a mysterious young woman who referred to herself as Amber. Desperate to find his way home, Ben largely ignored the strange alluring nature of the woman. Little did he know that Amber was far from human and the vampire did not take well to being ignored. Ben was turned but strangely, he still felt a strong connection to his family. Angered by this, Amber brought him back to his family and Ben returned only to find that after his disappearance, his wife had assumed him dead. Though she was technically right, she was not expecting the vampire that returned in her husband's place. Instead, she had moved on and found comfort in the arms of another. When Ben found this out, he was absolutely infuriated and the new thirst for blood drove him to murder what remained of his old life. Devastated by his brutal slaughtering, Ben found it difficult to adjust to his new life. In addition, he soon discovered that drinking human blood would trigger flashes of the victims memories. He's unsure of how this happens but he believes it to have something to do with his strong connection to his human side after being turned.
Seeing that there was nowhere else to go, Ben saw no choice but to follow Amber around like a lost puppy. The two of them remained in France as Ben slowly began to understand what he was. But the second Ben realized the life he was doomed to lead, he was quick to end the person who started all this. He killed his sire and almost every other vampire he met. It wasn't until the first World War broke out did Ben leave France to rejoin the Polish army. The war made it easy for him to feed off dying soldiers and it kept him entertained. He soon fell back in love with the fighting and made it his life. When the war ended, he moved to Canada where he then westernized his name to Benjamin James Kanst. He called Canada his home but he was rarely there, instead he enjoyed traveling the world to seek conflicts to join. It never mattered which side he fought for just as long as he was fighting. The last war he fought in was World War II where he went back to his French/Polish roots to fight there.
The wars weren't enough to keep his attention for long. He soon grew bored of the pointless human killings and the technology was making combat far too impersonal for his taste. Ben decided that he hadn't spent enough time in America and so he headed right to New York City. By the nineties, he had fallen into the punk rock scene. Being a vampire, it was far too easy for him to keep up with the partying, drugs and alcohol. He discovered his passion for music during this time and even had a brief stint with a band. But with his neverending crave for excitement, Ben has turned to something else. What better place then high school or better yet, a private school? Sure, he's never had any formal training but he's picked up enough along the years to appear as a somewhat intelligent Senior. He's partly doing it for the education and well, just for the hell of it. He wants to see how long it'll take before he's discovered and even if he is, he just wants to have fun.
RPSAMPLE !
Tonight, Ben had no plans. Well then again he rarely ever did so it wasn't exactly a surprise. But this no meant he was incredibly bored and when he was, he tended to do stupid things. Standing in the small one-bedroom apartment, Ben pulled the curtain to the window and looked out towards the alluring city lights. He didn't know the city that well but he figured a little exploring would be fun. With a soft sigh he pulled the curtain closed, turned on his heel and walked towards the dresser. He yanked out a black shirt and pulled it over his head. Like the stereotypical vampire, Ben's wardrobe didn't consist of many colors but his style was reflected in the band tees and the studded belt. It gave him the dark, brooding look but hey, after living around death for so long, bright and happy wasn't exactly what he was going for. And besides, the ink down both of his arms was color enough. He was quite fond of the tattoos and liked to show them off. Slipping on a pair of Converse, Ben grabbed the key before heading out the door. He locked up behind him and shoved the key into his pocket as he jogged down the stairs.
The taste of the cool, night air was a refreshing change from the inside of the stuffy, apartment building. He strolled along the sidewalk with no particular destination in mind. Honestly he wasn't paying much attention to where he was going anyway, it wasn't like it would matter where he ended up. It was only the dull, ground shaking bass pounding underneath his feet that made him stop and look around for the origin of the noise. It wasn't one of those nightclub beats that made him want to bash his head in but it was one that was more familiar to him instead. He smiled as he located the bar and made his way through the door. His arrival was hardly noted and Ben navigated through the crowd into a seat at the bar. The music was much clearer in here and to his surprise, the band wasn't half bad. Ben ordered a drink before turning around to lean on the bar, his grey eyes scanning the bar quickly. He was disappointed when nothing caught his attention immediately. There were humans around and figured he could resort to convincing one to join him in a dark alley but how boring would that be? Or well, he could always get in a fight with a vampire or demon, though he would have to find someone worth his time. Ben let out a soft sigh as his gaze flickered through the crowd again. There just wasn't much to do anymore.
